Today big engines are no longer required. Not with the turbocharging technology we have that can get you the same amount of power and even more torque out of a smaller block than before.
BMW knows it and is always keeping an eye on the environment, releasing more and more efficient engines. Such an engine is the one found on the brand new 328i model. Instead of using a 3-liter naturally aspirated unit, it's now using a 2-liter, 4-cylinder TwinTurbo engine that makes 245 HP and plenty of torque.
The problem with smaller engines though is that the sound isn't nearly as good as on bigger, more muscular ones. That's where a custom exhaust steps in, one that will make you feel more alive and hear the engine better.
Such an option is now offered by the guys from Active Autowerke. They developed a Signature Exhaust for the 328i model that provides a sophisticated yet aggressive tone, weight savings and even HP gains. You can listen to it below and then check it out on their website.
