Out of a "short" list of 59 cars, the BMW F30 3 Series was picked as Autocar's Car of the Year by a group of 18 highly respected car experts. The award was presented to BMW for both the standard 3er and the LWB version.
The officials that received the award were Ian Robertson, BMW Chief of Sales and Marketing and Adrian van Hooydonk, Chief Designer. Amongst the cars defeated by the Bimmer, you could spot heavyweights like Audi Q3, Porsche 911, Range Rover Evoque, Toyota GT86 and Lexus GS.

The 3er was voted by editors from each country in Asia where the Autocar Magazine is published (China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam).

"“The BMW 3-series is simply the most useable and drivable car on the shortlist. It exceeds your expectations by a country mile, making it a true winner," said Derryn Wong, contributing editor of Autocar Singapore.
