Every year, Europe and Germany’s largest auto club, ADAC, conducts surveys to establish which cars offer the best satisfaction to their owners. They also try to cover every car segment, even though this looks like an impossible battle with manufacturers inventing new niche cars every year.

This year’s SUV category was won by BMW’s X3 SUV for the second time in a row. After being placed on the same spot last year, the X3 managed to defeat the Audi Q5 again to hold its position intact. Third place went to Mercedes-Benz for its GLK-Class.

The rankings are obtained after relevant data about vehicle satisfaction, repurchase intentions and vehicle and manufacturer image is interpreted. The X3 achieved almost the same overall grades as last year. However, improvements were registered regarding servicing and comfort, drivability and perceived safety.

Other contestants in the SUV segment were the Skoda Yeti, ranked 4th, BMW X1 (5th), Volvo XC60, VW Tiguan, Mitsubishi ASX, Nissan Qashqai , Dacia Duster, Ford Kuga, Nissan Juke, Hyundai ix35 and Kia Sportage.
