When it first came out, the new 1 Series was a complete surprise. Usually, BMW surprises its fans in a pleasant way but this time most of them complained. The new exterior design of the F20 looked, let's say different.
The new car got bigger headlights (some say that they're too big and we kind of agree) and new taillights that make the 1er's back end look a lot like a Polo. That resemblance with a car that is definitely not in the premium segment infuriated the Bimmer-heads and most said that the new 1er is just not a BMW anymore.

The F20 1 Series is currently imported in China but things might change in the future, rumors saying that BMW is considering starting the production of the smallest BMW at the moment in Shenyang.

The one we're looking at today was wrapped in Matte Black vinyl with a slight infusion of green. The neon green on the bottom (and a bit at the top, wrapping the radio antenna) is also done in vinyl wrap for a touch of color. Unfortunately the mirror covers were left unattended and ruin the overall look of the car.

The 1er has a base price of $36,500 (225.700 yuan) in China and can go as high as $55,000 (337.500 yuan). That means that after paying at least $36,500 the owner decided to invest a little more and bought some new, aftermarket wheels that were also painted in Matte Black. Overall the idea wasn't bad and we actually like the way the car looks now, making a strong case for BMW to sell this color as stock.
