Just 10 days ago we brought you the first set of pictures with the interior of the new BMW F15 X5 model. Today, we get to see some more details.
These new pictures are more focused on the new iDrive touch controls that will be added to the whole BMW fleet starting with the new models that are coming up in 2013 and 2014.

The enhanced iDrive system will have many new functions including handwriting recognition (for those of us that spend too much time working) and navigation in maps, a feature requested by many BMW customers.

Furthermore, as we already saw, the new dashboard will have a layered design, similar to the one on the F30 3 Series, with a more driver-focused feeling. According to BMW Designers, this new take on the interior of the Bavarian cars will give the driver a more intimate feel.

However, we're not particular fans of the dashboard LCD screen which will no longer be integrated, as is in the current generation. This feature (also seen on the F30) makes the screen seem like it's been accidentally forgot and placed there out of a lack of inspiration. Yet, we understand that this new layout is due to the new layered design of the dash so we'll have to give it a second chance.

We already know how the new F15 will look like on the outside, thanks to an early leak, back in January. However, the surprises might come from under the bonnet, as the F15 X5 will be lighter and CO2 emission standards are getting stricter.

The new car might even have 4-cylinder turbocharged engines, a first for BMWs first SUV-like vehicle. Furthermore, recent rumors say that we'll also be seeing rear-wheel-drive X5s, dubbed sDrive. We'll just have to wait for the official release to be sure.
