With the new model, BMW's SUV (or SAV as they like to call it) will reach the lucky number 3 generation. We already know the models that will be available at first but for the Australian market, things are a bit different, as usual.
In Australia, the xDrive30d, xDrive50i and M50d model will all be available, therefore the 3-liter diesel powered model becoming the entry-level option. Its price will start at AUD99,990, AUD7,655 more than the previous model.

This will bring you 258 HP, 560 Nm of torque and standard equipment such as 19 inch alloy wheels, high-beam assist and anti-dazzle mirrors, auto tailgate, bi-xenon headlights, LED fog lights and the professional navigation system.

The next model in the line-up is the petrol xDrive50i X5, powered by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 N63 engine with 450 HP and 650 Nm of torque, priced at AUD133,900 (AUD245 than the outgoing model).

On the petrol-powered model, standard features will be comprised of all the features available on the xDrive30d and, on top of that, adaptive suspension, air suspension for the rear, new materials for the cabin, heated front seats, Harmann Kardon surround system, active cruise control and an alarm system.

At the moment, the top of the range model will be the M50d that comes with a price tag of AUD147,900 and a 3-liter diesel triturbo engine that produces 381 HP and 740 Nm of torque.

As with the other models, this one has everything the other have as standard plus M adaptive suspension, a new body kit and various M Performance Parts. Prices might seem big but the X5 is currently the best selling car in its segment in Australia and prospects look even better.
