Every once in a while we get to see wrecked high-performance cars. However, the faster these cars go, the bigger the damage is in case of an accident, as it happened with the F10 M5 that we're talking about today.
Unfortunately, while looking for the best performance and the lightest possible components, manufacturers forget about the safety of the cars they build. Using all sorts of carbon fibre, titanium and aluminum in the manufacturing process brings a great deal of safety issues to deal with.

However, the crushed M5 in these photos is definitely not one of the supercars made entirely out of those materials. That's probably what saved the driver's life. Had he been in an older Ferrari, it woud have been a different story.

No additional info is available at the moment but we're guessing that the vehicle did some gymnastic-worthy spins in the air and on the ground before reaching a complete halt. This is a good reminder of what can happen when the experience of the driver doesn't match the car's power.
