After Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman said that the M6 Gran Coupe is the best M car you can possibly get at the moment, we expected most of the community to agree.
However, the Australians from CarAdvice said otherwise. They too took one for a spin through the hot Australian sun and came up disappointed. Let's take a look at what they didn't like.

Well, basically they complain about the car's suspension and weight. That's about it. Oh, and they claim that the price tag difference from a regular M5 is too big. However, the Gran Coupe is a lot different from the M5.

Surely, even they spotted the luxurious interior and the gorgeous looks of the car, and despite being a bit biased, they had to admit that for a car that weighs almost 2 tones, it did exceptionally well on the track. Not that most users will ever take it to the track…

The Herculean amount of torque being delivered to the rear wheels (measuring 680 Nm or 501 lb-ft) will easily make the rear end go sideways. Yes, they also complained about the torque and that it's delivered from 1500 RPM but that's a matter of taste.

Bottom line, the price was the main problem with the M6 Gran Coupe, even though most of its competitors are even more expensive in Australia so we can't really put our finger on what BMW did wrong to receive such a review.
