Reviews of BMW's new 6 Series Gran Coupe are going around the internet by the thousands. However, no many are focusing on the 640i model, a car that is considered perfect by most possible buyers, with an according price tag.
The Auto Channel took one in a test drive for a week, to see just how good would a 3-liter turbocharged engine cope with the car's weight and demand in agility.

The N55 engine for this model was tuned to deliver 320 HP and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque, the same as the M135i model. Hooked up to the ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, the GC will reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.4 seconds and that is quick!

So don't take this 'giant' to be slow and weary. The car is quick and agile and will even provide good fuel economy if you're careful. Without looking at the numbers in the dash, over their test, the car achieved a fuel consumption of 9.4 l/100km (25 mpg) which is definitely not bad.

The ride is just the same as in every other Gran Coupe: comfortable and sporty when you need it to be whilst the safety features will definitely make you feel like you're in the future with a lot of cameras and other high-tech thingies.

Bottom line the Gran Coupe is definitely worth your time and money, even in the 640i version, with the potent N55 engine under the bonnet.
