Since the 2020 CO2 emission levels seem to be impossible to reach without altering in one way or another the drivetrains of BMW cars, the German company has to be very creative in creating even more eco-friendly cars.
They just published a video on the official Youtube channel, further explaining exactly was EfficientDynamics stands for and how it is used.

First of all, the new 3-cylinder engines will be a technological breakthrough as they will be using considerably less fuel than their 4-cylinder bigger brothers and will keep the sound and fell of a 6-cylinder unit.

Following what BMW M division CEO said a couple of weeks ago, the new engine should develop around 200 HP per liter with ease (for the petrol unit) whilst the diesel one will definitely be extremely economical.

As almost everyone that got to test the new engine said, even Andy Priaulx had to admit that the new 1.5-liter unit is incredibly sporty and fierce for an engine of this size, so we should be in for a treat once BMW will officially launch this so-called "baby-six".
