As usual, here on our blog, every car has a story behind it and this one is no exception. After owning a BMW E46 M3, the owner of this car just couldn’t part with the S54 engine and decided to continue driving the legendary 6-cylinder inline engine.
Despite one ruthless driver totaled his M3, ignoring a red light, Stefan wasn’t faded. He kept searching and finally found an E86 Z4 M at a Chevy dealership, a car that fortunately has the same exact engine on it and is 200 lbs lighter.
Upon seeing it, he had to own it and made an offer that wasn’t refused. After legally owning the new Bimmer he started changing it to his own taste. First up, the side-markers were changed together with the shift knob and vinyl wrap for the roof.
Under the bonnet he opted for a set of Supersprint Stepped V2 headers, a pair of custom-modified Meisterschaft E46 M3 catless mid-pipes and RPI Mufflers. The engine also received an Evolve-R ECU tune for some more power.
New coilovers were also installed for a better stance whilst a BMW Performance strut bar tightens up the front end. Last but not least a set of AC Schnitzer Type 2 wheels measuring 18 inches were added to the mix for the perfect look!
