In case you just followed an easy DIY we just posted and you want to reset your service interval but don't have the energy left to go to a service station and do it, we got you covered too.
One helpful M5Board member created a topic with a very useful DIY for those people that like to do simple mechanical work around their cars (like changing the oil, brake pads or air filters, etc.) and keep on getting those pesky iDrive notifications, even though they are no longer necessary.
This topic has a DIY guide for resetting all kinds of service intervals, like the ones for the micro filter, brake pads, brake fluid and others we can't think of right now. Oh, before we forget, the post also has pictures in it for those of you who are still kind-of reluctant.
What you need to do goes like this:
Step 1: Turn on the ignition by pressing the Start button (make sure the car doesn't actually start).
Step 2: Push the odometer reset button until the exclamation mark shows up on the display, right above the gear indicator.
Step 3: You'll notice a different icon show up instead of the exclamation mark, letting you know what service interval you can reset. You can reset the service interval for the micro-filter, brake pads and so on. Upon reaching the desired icon release the button and press it again quickly to make your selection.
Step 4: Keep pressing until a question asking if you want to reset the service interval shows up.
Step 5: Release the button to confirm the selection and you're done. The new service interval should show up on your car's instrument cluster now.
