With the retiring of the E93 M3 Convertible, the world said goodbye to the last naturally aspirated engine made by BMW. And what an engine it was. The S65 unit was derived from the S85 V10 engine that used Formula 1 technology and characterized the E60 M5.
That car was always controversial. Whilst everyone loved the high-revving engine under the bonnet, a lot of people criticized the way it looked, claiming it to be a sacrilege in BMW’s history, going way off the traditional lines people were used to on Bavarian machines.
I, for one, always liked it. Sure, it’s different but that doesn’t mean it’s ugly. Owners today are still driving them with pleasure and some are even still modding them, after all this time.
One such man recently went into the European Auto Source shop and demanded a new stance for his car. It didn’t take long to fulfill his wish and the Bimmer left the shop on new Eibach Pro-kit lowering springs and Macht Schnell Competition Wheel Spacers (12 mm at the front and 10 mm at the back).
