A rather interesting car was just spotted in China, wearing some Alpina bits and pieces here and there and posing as an original. The car we’re talking about that can be seen in the adjacent pictures, is a long wheelbase E60 5 Series.
Dressed in probably the dullest grey you can get, the car was seen wearing a rather unusual bonnet with massive air vents in it, as if extra cooling was necessary for a huge engine. However, judging by the rest of its body, this is just a regular 5er, posing as an M5 with a couple of carefully placed details.
The dead giveaway, however, was the lack of side gills on the front fenders. That was all it took to realize that, in case the 4 tailpipes at the back are real, this car is, at best, a 550i.
The bonnet has a rather weird design and we can’t really say we know who made it but the wheels are unmistakable and we absolutely love them. The Alpina turbine look will never grow old and (unless you’re a 14-year old) will forever be classy and tasteful, appealing to all kinds of people, from businessmen to racers, as we’re thinking the owner of this car is.
Actually, if it wasn’t for those vents up front on the bonnet, we’d be inclined to say that this is very good looking BMW, the kind you rarely see in China.
