BMWs are notorious for having cooling issues. On a car like an E36 3er, that could very well be 20 years old, you could be sure that the cooling system underwent some serious surgery over time.
One of the main ingredients of the cooling system is the radiator. However, it's highly likely that the radiator will break down last, after you've changed almost everything else on your car's cooling.

Replacing it is not a hard job to do. However, some steps are tricky and you might need guidance in doing it. This is where this DIY steps is. It's filled with pictures and useful tips on how to do the job clean and fast.

When replacing your radiator, be sure to use only BMW certified replacement parts as they will be subjected to a lot of stress and you don't want to change it every 2 weeks. You could actually even go for a high-performance, aftermarket one that will perform better than the OEM version but that's a completely different story. Good luck!
