After an encouraging start of the season with one first place and two second places in the first two races of the 2013 DTM Championship, the BMW Motorsport teams are going to Austria for the 3rd race that will be held at the Spielberg track.
Last year's race was a real thriller worthy of one of Steven Spielberg's movies (no pun intended) when Martin Tomczyk finished second, making it its first podium as a BMW driver. The 4.326 km (2.647 mi) track will take the drivers through the Austrian landscape.
The circuit is surrounded by slopes (some of which are used as natural grandstands) and the entire arena has a certain, special feeling, offering great views of the entire circuit for the audience.
BMW Motorsport Director, Jens Marquardt and the 8 DTM drivers will arrive at the track in style, with a very special journey to the circuit. They will travel in a convoy of BMW Classic Cars along with starts from other sports (like the BMW Group Olympic Ambassador Katarina Witt).
