The Nurburgring can be accurately described as a collection of bends waiting to tear apart the machines of those who aren't prepared for the Green Hell experience. And while the list of the most dangerous corners on the Ring involves twists like Schwedenkreuz, Adenauer Forst certainly isn't one of them.
In fact, this S-section is rather simple to tackle, as long as you're aware of the Nordschleife's layout. Alas, many Ring novices speed into the section without being aware of the fact that the course tightens more than it might seem and end up crashing here.

And the Touristenfahrten (Tourist Days) traffic, which is often heavy, obviously doesn't help with keeping cars in one piece.

We've brought along a compilation showcasing Adenauer Forst mishaps. While many of the ka-bangs seen here involve special machines (for instance, there's a Porsche 911 GT3 RS that gets rear-ended by a Golf 2), there's one that stands out.

The adventure we're talking about is centered around a humble E36 BMW 3 Series Touring, but the driver of the Bimmer delivers a stunning crash save.

We're not sure how the aficionado behind the wheel of the Bimmer lost control, as the car enters the frame traveling backward. And, judging by the speed at which the BMW was heading towards the guardrail, the impact would've been noticeable.

As many of you know, simply slamming on the brakes won't help in such situations, especially since the initial phase of the stunt took place on the grass, with the ABS limiting braking pressure.

However, the man decided to engage a forward gear and floor the machine. And the wheelspin generated in the process managed to prevent the crash, with the car stopping just inches away from the metallic element on the side of the track.

And while you can find this movie stunt-like maneuver at the 2:20 point of the video below, the rest of the clip is also worthy of your attention.
