“As far as our present driver line-up is concerned I am not prepared to say anything negative. “In top sport you have waves of success and we've always been clear about that. The big problem for us is that for the last three years we have shown a continual upswing in results and this is our first real step back – and we have to gather ourselves and work through it. And that is what we are busy doing,” added the German official.
Talking about the possibility of being left out by BMW when setting their 2010 lineup, Heidfeld admitted he would be surprised if that happens, as he has so far brought the Hinwil based outfit its only points in 2009. The German also managed to score a podium this season, during the rain-shortened Malaysian Grand Prix.
“I don't know why they would get rid of a driver who has scored six out of the six points,” said Heidfeld prior to the Monaco GP the past weekend.
