The COMPUTEX fair that takes place in June in Taipei becomes the Mecca of the electronic world every year for a couple of days. This year we'll be witnessing the launch of the so-called M8 Gaming PC designed by BMW DesignWorks USA and built by ASRock.
This is the first time the two companies worked together on a project even though the design company had other collaborations in the IT field before. The first step in creating the M8 PC was taken back in 2012, when ASRock challenged the BMW branch to create their first Small Form Factor PC.

The end result has a design that let's exudes power and performance even before switching it on, similar to BMW cars proving, once again, that the masterminds from DesignWorks USA can turn any inanimate object into a thing of beauty.

Furthermore, the M8 was designed in such a way that it looks good in both vertical and horizontal positions. Since ASRock is known for its motherboards, the key element in the construction of the SFF PC was to highlight their product.

One side of the case is transparent, allowing the gamers to see the inner workings of the high-tech device. For quick customization, the side panels are magnetic and can be removed with ease.

The front knob is multifunctional and has an OLED display. Through it you can adjust the computer's volume and fan speeds whilst also displaying an array of information like usage, temperatures, date and time.

“Gaming is all about emotion and individuality, so we created a design which is very much an exaggerated mode of expression. It speaks to the gamers’ souls and offers iconic differentiation in a small Gaming-PC," said Laurenz Schaffer, President of BMW Group DesignworksUSA.

“One does not play games on a boring gaming rig. Gamers should be able to feel the adrenaline rush the moment they power on their PCs, just as drivers get fired up the moment they start their engines. That’s why we have decided to collaborate with BMW Group DesignworksUSA,” LL Shiu, Chief Operating Officer of ASRock added.
