BMW Dealers Introduce a Product Navigator

BMW thought they needed to lighten up the atmosphere a bit at dealers and introduced the Microsoft Surface for the BMW 7 series configurator.

The video speaks for itself as the new platform is easy to use and intuitive. This is party because the program resembles iPhone in hand gestures and partly because when you use it, it feels quite special. The best thing is the color chooser that senses which color you want to apply and on what surface.

You can do this by selecting the yellow stone and placing it on the chassis of the car and the car color changes to yellow. Then, if you want alloy wheels with 5 spokes instead of 6, you just chose the 5 spoke wheels stone and you place it on the table. The same goes for interior changes and there is a plasma TV as well so you can see the finished product.

The program can be a bit of a handful at times, but all in all it is a great achievement for BMW and a real show stopper for any dealer. It has all the prerequisites to attract more people and customers than a normal dealer would.

The BMW 7 series is one of the most anticipated luxury cars on the market. The outgoing model was very controversial because of its odd design philosophy, but the new one looks like a beautiful beast and that suits the car very well.

There are 3 engine options available, two petrol and a diesel, with power output ranging from 245hp (for the 730d) to 407 hp (for the top of the range 750i). As technology is concerned, the new “seven” features an improved iDrive system with a full feature Internet browser, a self parking assistant and night vision with pedestrian warning.
