The spring 2015 BMW bike collection has just gotten bigger with the addition of the Cruise M-Bike Limited Edition. Far from being "yet another BMW-badged bike", the M-Bike is a collector's item, a fully functional piece of ecologic personal transport, and a piece of modern art.
The Cruise M-Bike Limited Edition is finished in the spectacular Austin Yellow Metallic paint of BMW M GmbH, and this adds a ton of class to the model.
Anyway, we totally dig this two-wheeler, even though it's not exactly the queen of bikes. Having cables passing through the tubular frame is a smart and convenient idea which also frees the bike from any clutter, allowing BMW to show off the sleek metal.
The Bavarian maker added a beefy adjustable fork to the game, as well as big rotors for firm stopping power. First-class Shimano hardware ensures a rewarding ride while Continental tires complement the big picture.
BMW will only manufacture 500 Cruise M-Bike Limited Edition bicycles, and each will be sold (through a network of select BME dealers) with a special plaque and a certificate of authenticity.
Honestly we expected the BMW Cruise M-Bike Limited Edition to be crazy-expensive, but we were wrong. Surely, at €1,400 ($1,485), the BMW Cruise M-Bike Limited Edition is not exactly cheap, but if you want those eye-candy BMW and M badges on the bike, they come with a price...
Sporty lines and premium Shimano hardware
For a strange reason, the frame of the BMW Cruise M-Bike Limited Edition looks very aggressive. Maybe it's the slight bend in the upper section which introduces the visual illusion of speed, especially when combined with the dropped rear frame.Anyway, we totally dig this two-wheeler, even though it's not exactly the queen of bikes.
