The Lab is a virtual platform aimed at serving as a virtual support space for car enthusiasts that want to share ideas and comment on the car world’s future together with BMW.
“The Co-Creation Lab is a virtual meeting place for individuals interested in car related topics, eager to share their ideas and opinions on tomorrow’s automotive world with one of the leading car manufacturers,” stated the press release.
The on-line platform will be launched soon after the BMW Idea Contest, serving as a base for future innovation projects. The users can share their ideas, as well as collaborate with others and the team of the BMW Group.
The Idea Contest “Tomorrow‘s Urban Mobility Services" was searching for ideas destined to mobility services in urban areas. A total of 497 users published around 300 ideas that were evaluated and commented by over 1,000 other users from all over the world, with the final decision submitted by a BMW jury.
The winner of the contest is Venugopal Panicker who invented the PMUP- concept. PMUP, which stands for „Pick me up please” is a mobility system that allows communication between drivers and pedestrians.
The next contest’s theme will be "individualized interior equipment”, with the competition “presumably starting in August”.
