The BMW-Brilliance joint venture from China just announced that it's going to recall 143,215 BMW 5 Series manufactured between August 24 2009 and August 31 2012. This includes both E60 and F10 models.
The purpose of this recall is to replace defective power line plugs in the electric power steering system that may cause safety risks, according to China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
The company will replace the defective parts for free at its own services and dealerships around the country and not just at the headquarters in Shenyang City of Liaoning Province near Beijing.
