When times are hard, people are bound to look for alternative means of transportation. They can choose to leave their cars at home indefinitely, or they can choose to drop their plans for buying a new one and go for a second-hand choice. In BMW-land, that’s called a Certified Pre-Owned car.
What that means is that the car is bought from a dealership has been previously owned but comes with a certain assurance from BMW themselves that it is in the best shape possible.
Before being sold as a CPO model, any BMW will be going through a rigorous inspection, will be offered with full warranty and could be joined by a couple of interesting offers to sweeten the deal. Of course, you won’t have to pay the full price too, that being the main advantage.
A couple of years back, this was the main choice for a bigger and bigger portion of customers. Now, BMW focuses on it once again, bringing it into the spotlight with two new, funny commercials.
Both of them want to emphasize facts that are otherwise true, no matter how hard we, gear heads, try to deny. When buying a car, it doesn’t really matter if it was pre-owned or if it is coming off from the assembly line right now. We’re definitely going to treat it like a newborn baby.
Sure, we might not cover it with so many protective layers as you’re about to see in the commercials but we’ll definitely fold the side mirrors when parking it. Am I right?
