Pierre Fredet is BMW's pilot for the Dark Dog Moto Tour (DDMT) in France and has made it in the second place this year. The DDMT is the world's largest road rally as it sums up to 2,200 miles (3,500 km) of constant racing on the roads and tracks as well.
Fredet rode a rally-mofidied C600 Sport through all the stages, day or night, pure speed and technical ones alike. Far from being just a race against the clock, the DDMT also tests the pilots for consistent navigation skills and technical skills on a variety of surfaces on closed roads or racing circuits.

Pierre's C600 Sport has received a high-class Öhlins rear shock for enhanced feel, and a road book and trip master for navigation. He stresses that weather protection is top-notch on the BMW C600 Sport, as it used to rain during most stages of the DDMT.

With an average of 5.5 l/ 100 km on liaison, the BMW C600 Sport also shows good fuel economy, especially as we think about the competition conditions. The automatic transmission works extremely well, Fredet adds, and coupling it with the very powerful brakes gave a feeling of sporty confidence. Some 10-15 kg should be shaved off the C600 Sport for an even better performance, Fredet says.

Pierre Fredet missed the first position with just a 42 seconds delay against Benjamin Colliaux on Honda Integra. Far from discouraging, he claims he'll continue developing the rally specs of the BMW C600 Sport so it will become a better rally machine for the next year, even if himself would be forced to lose some 10 kilos
