Bad news for the BMW-Brilliance joint venture in China. Duan Jianjun, the companies' sales chief announced that he will be leaving the company for personal reasons.
This comes as a surprise since things have been going very well for BMW in China, recently posting a sales increase of 34.6 percent in the communist country, heading for the crown of the biggest BMW market in the world.

At the moment, according to Auto News China, the company has yet to announce a successor for the position, but we're guessing it's just a matter of time. Duan Jianjun joined BMW-Brilliance in 2008 after leaving the Chinese branch of Italian manufacturer, Fiat.

For the current year, BMW set out to break another record and grow sales to never before seen levels. At the moment, year-to-date, the BMW sales in China grew by 39 percent and are expected to go even higher, despite Jianjun's resignation.
