Since 1975, BMW started using its cars as canvas for some of the most unconventional artists that dared to create something special on the exterior of certain BMWs. Those artists included the likes of Andy Warhol, David Hockney, Jeff Koons and many others.
Nowadays, BMW is waiting for your proposals for a new Art Car. All your entries can be submitted at BMWPortland.com until noon on May 15 2013. The future canvas will be made entirely out of the body of a F13 6 Series Coupe.

Anyone can enter the contest and BMW Portland will reward the top 3 design ideas with awards totaling $10,000 ($2,500 cash and $2,500 as a scholarship for 1st place, $3,000 for 2nd place and $2,000 for 3rd). Furthermore, you can enter as many ideas as you want but you'll only get credited for one. The design will have to cover the whole car (excluding the windows) and has to be in either JPG or TIFF formats.

Files have to be saved in the highest possible quality (minimum 96 dpi at 100% print size) and must be labeled ART INITIATIVE and include Entrant name, age, phone number, postal address and email address. You'll also have to separate the files according to the car's body parts (i.e. hood, rear, roof, passenger and driver sides).

The winner will have the chance to paint its design on a 2013 BMW 650i Coupe that will be unveiled at the 2013 Grand Floral Parade on June 8. After this event, the car will be displayed by BMW Portland at its future events and in the dealership's showroom.
