Just a couple of hours ago, BMW launched the impressive Vision Future Luxury Concept at the 13th edition of the Beijing Auto Show. However, that’s not the only new thing for the Asian and Chinese market brought along by the Germans.
Apart from this world premiere, there are a couple of regional debuts involved as well. The new BMW X4 makes its Chinese premiere this week, after being unveiled for the first time in the US, at the New York Auto Show.

The new Sport Activity Coupe plans to offer an alternative to those who are looking for a smaller X6 with the same lack of practicality. In China, we might see a similar offering as in the US, the line-up being limited to petrol units and a possible hybrid later on.

Another Asian premiere is the 2 Series Active Tourer, the first front-wheel-drive BMW in the brand’s history. What hasn’t been already said about this abomination that makes the Bavarians no different from their Swabian rivals.

The 2 SAT will be using the company’s first FWD platform codenamed UKL1 and will be entering the ‘soccer mom’ segment starting this year. The engines will be shared with the new MINI hardtop models, ranging from 1.5-liter 3-cylinder petrol and diesel units to 2-liter turbocharged petrol and diesel alternatives, the top of the range version being the 231 HP one, powering the 225i.

The last Chinese premieres are the 4 Series Gran Coupe, and the i vehicles, the i3 and i8, both of them vital for the smog-cladded Chinese country that has one of the biggest problems with air pollution in the world.

As for the Asian premieres, you can include here the M3 and M4 Coupe, the M cars that are bound to change the way customers look at the most powerful letter in the world. Alongside them, the 7 Series Horse Edition is also making an appearance, just as promised earlier on this year.
