BMW Announces Design Team Changes

Back in August, BMW made a couple of changes in its design team, naming Adrian van Hooydonk in charge of the BMW Group Design, taking care of all models and brands of the manufacturer. Also, Advanced Design, design research, design strategy and DesignworksUSA are now under his command.

Over at BMW Design though, the man in charge is Karim Habib and he decided to name Domagoj Dukec as head of Exterior Design, whilst Oliver Heilmer was appointed head of Interior Design. Martina Starke is to take over as head of Color and Material Design.

As for the new members, you’ll be delighted to know that Domagoj is 38, was born in Frankfurt and worked as part of the Exterior Design team for BMW automobiles since 2010. The Active Tourer Concept was his creation.

39-year old Oliver Heilmer replaces Marc Girard as head of Interior Design after working for this team since 2000. Born in Munich, Oliver was in charge of the way the F10 5 Series looks on the inside. As for Martina, she is 42, joined BMW in 2001 and will take care, amongst others, of the BMW Individual program. Let’s all wish them good luck and hope they’ll bring new, beautiful designs for our favorite brand.
