Alpina’s most hardcore car ever made might very well also be one of the most luxurious. Of course, we’re not talking about race cars here but rather about regular models that are being sold to regular (rich) people.
The latest model to join the ranks of Alpina’s line-up is the B6 Gran Coupe Biturbo xDrive. This is the fastest car the company ever made, putting to shame a real M model that BMW is currently selling.
Of course, when one buys a car the specs a manufacturer claims are part of the deal but they are not the only criteria to keep in mind. If that’s the case, the Alpina B6 GC will probably become a best seller in the premium 4-door coupe segment.
That’s because, as we said, it’s faster than the M6 Gran Coupe, for example. Based on the 650i xDrive Gran Coupe, the tuned model has a more powerful engine and all-wheel-drive at its disposal to put all that extra hp on the ground as efficiently as possible.
Therefore, with 540 HP and 730 Nm (538 lb-ft) at its disposal, going to all four corners of the car thanks to xDrive and the 8-speed automatic gearbox, it’s no surprise it will do 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds. That’s for a car that weighs 2 tons.
Its top speed is rated at 318 km/h (197 mph), trampling over the 305 km/h (190 mph) top speed of the MDM M6 Gran Coupe that’s also slower to 100 km/h (62 mph) by 0.4 seconds.
Now, you should also know that, like any other Alpina, this one is also available with all the optional features you could think of and the finest leather around. You’ll be able to carry 3 other people around with you at mind-boggling speeds in all comfort, something Alpina knows a thing or two about.
Pricing for the B6 Biturbo Gran Coupe starts at €126,500 around €2,000 less than for the M6 Gran Coupe in Germany. In the US, prices start at $115,700 for the M car while the Alpina is a bit more expensive at $117,300.
