They say electric cars are the future, but we doubt that a Tesla will ever look as good as this BMW 8 Series tuning project from the specialists at AC Schnitzer.
We're surprised by how soon they were ready with the reveal, but maybe we shouldn't be. The 8 Series is the most coupe this side of a Bentley, and it looks great right out of the box. Adding some carbon fiber can only mean that you have a tuning project fit for the Essen Motor Show.

Let's go upside down and start with the power. As you may have noticed, this bad boy is the M850i, which is already very powerful at 530 HP. The tuning company quite easily managed to extract a full 600 HP, and also added 100 torque for a total of 850 Nm (627 lb-ft). With xDrive in the kit, it's already fit to take on the M5 and pretty much any German challenger.

BMW also offers the 840d, which AC Schnitzer has modified as well. The twin-turbo 3-liter diesel engine has been taken from 320 HP and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) to 380 HP and 780 Nm. To emphasize the aggressive setup, both can be fitted with new quad exhausts and capped with large carbon tips.

The hardware changes also include a new suspension configuration with 20mm shorter front springs and a 10mm drop at the back. This has been paired with custom wheels from the German tuner's catalog, the kind you see all the time at the BMW Abu Dhabi showroom.

As for the aero package, it's pretty obvious what they've done. For more downforce, the 8er has been fitted with a chin spoiler and winglets over the front bumper, side skirts and a large race car wing perched over its trunk. It's up to you whether you want it installed or not. The usual interior tweaks - aluminum inserts, carpets, and badges - have been announced but won't be shown until Essen.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
