The guys from Vossen wheels launched a special product a while back featuring an unique directional design and all the attributes to make it more than desirable around the world. We’re talking about the VLE-1 range that is just the first in a series of limited-edition wheels.
Only 400 sets were made and they were available in just two classic finishes that featured the same concave design. Available only in 20-inch guise, the VLE-1 models can be had in either Gloss Graphite or Metallic Silver.

As far as bolt patterns and widths go, the wheels are available in a wider variety from PCD 5x112 to 5x120 and from ET 25 to ET 45, in various combinations. The price for such a set? Well, it depends on who you’re asking. Vossen said that it should be around $2,600 but it seems like resellers want to capitalize on the high demand and the limited stock and ask up to $40,000 for a set.

Is there a reason to to justify such a price tag?

The wheels sure do look nice but in no way are they worth that kind of money. You’d have to be incredibly rich and extremely willing to become poor to spend your money that way.

It’s true, each wheel comes with a center cap that was CNC machined at the company's HQ in Miami, Florida, undergoing three different sanding stages before being hand-brushed and clear coated. On it the set’s number is engraved, from 1 to 400.

Furthermore, the rims come with a kit comprised of a custom presentation box that encases a Certificate of Authenticity as well as a a shirt, snap-back hat, keychain, coffee mug and cinch bag.

Even so, we still think $40 grand is too much. $2,600 seems like the right price. To get an idea of how these rims will look like on a car, we posted a couple of photos of a golden BMW 5 Series showcasing one such set. Yes, that car is golden. Deal with it!
