BMW 435i Test Drive by Car and Driver

Out of the plethora of journalists out there, Car and Driver couldn't miss the opportunity to travel to Portugal and take on the new 4 Series too. Their test showed pretty similar results as all the others.

The same Sport Line 435i model was used with its 3-liter N55 engine and 306 HP (400 Nm of torque) hooked up to the 8-speed ZF transmission that, as always, worked flawlessly.

Compared to its F30 Sedan brother, the Coupe is definitely sportier and more agile, feeling these improved attributes in every corner you take. Furthermore, the lowered center of gravity will make sure you experience the speed of the vehicle, the way you're supposed to.

The car had the Dynamic Handling Package ($1,000) that includes adaptive dampers and variable-ratio steering so you can't really tell how cars without it will perform.

The problem they found with the car was the lack of steering feel, despite the variable-ratio system. However, the 4 Series' system was better than the one found on the 3er, but still not enough.
