As it turns out, the Autobild Sports Car Awards for 2013 proved more interesting than not. The brand new BMW 4 Series Coupe, a car that barely made it to dealerships around the world last month, won the Coupe category, defeating cars like the Porsche 911 GT3 and the older Audi S5.
Over 77.000 voters came together to pick the winners out of 143 cars and the 435i model was voted the best sports coupe of the moment, even though it doesn’t have mind-boggling stats to brag with. The 3-liter engine under the bonnet delivers 306 HP and 400 Nm (300 lb-ft) of torque, allowing the car to accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.4 seconds.
Alongside the 435i, another ‘sort of BMW’ proved victorious. The M5-based Mi5Sion model from Hamann won the tuned limousine category, in front of the GAD CLS63 AMG and the ABT S8.
