That’s because, as is usually the case with all modern BMWs, they’re unveiling a pre-production car built as a concept, a coupe to be more precise. The idea here is to create hype about how cool the car is and everything, showing it in the best light possible, but mostly staying true to the real deal. So in case you’re brousing through the phoos already, we can tell you what’s going to be different on the production 4-Series: the intakes in the lower bumper, the headlights, the rear bumper, side mirrors and the wheels.

Getting to the stuff that BMW has revealed, we can tell you this is the first ever 4-Series model. The coupe is being unveiled first, but the hard-top convertible is probably going to debut at the same time, followed by the Gran Coupe (a four-door).

The new 4-Series is 4,641 mm long, 1,826 mm wide and 1,362 mm tall. This makes it 29 mm longer, 44 mm wider and 16 mm lower than the 3-Series Coupe. It’s also got a longer wheelbase and wider track, especially at the back.
