For one of the widest range of upgrade kits for your BMW, Hartge is the best tuner out there. Their range of options is unbelievable and they just published a test with an upgraded 316d model.
The stock car has a 2-liter turbocharged diesel engine with 116 HP and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque, reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in 10.8 seconds and returns a fuel consumption of 53.5 mpg (4.4 l/100 km). In the Hartge test it goes from 80 to 200 km/h in 38.23 seconds.

The upgraded version goes up to 152 HP and 330 Nm (243 lb-ft) of torque, from the same engine and accelerates from 80 to 200 km/h (50-124 mph) in 25.26 seconds, almost a 13 second improvement.

The price tag for such a plug and play kit is EUR1,250 and, apart from the performance increase, will also drive the fuel consumption lower by around half a liter every 100 km.
