BMW 3 Series Racecar Has High-Speed Nurburgring Crash, Rolls Over Six Times

We're not talking about a tourist session here, with the accident involving a racing session instead. As such, the E90-generation BMW 3 Series involved in the accident had been given a proper motorsport conversion.

The 325i was handled by a female racer, but it seems the Schwedenkreuz (Sx) caught the driver off guard. We can't see the initial moments, when the one behind the wheel lost control, but losing the back end when entering the Sx bend is a typical mistake.

You see, this bend comes as a surprise to those who aren't perfectly aware of the Nordschleife's layout, with the most common error being suddenly lifting or stepping on the brakes too firmly when steering into the corner, which will cause the rear end to become loose.

And since Sx follows a generous straight, the entry speeds for this bend are substantial.

Returning to the BMW 325i crash, the driver overcorrected and ended up sliding the other way, with a nose dive into the tire wall on the exterior of the bend following shortly.

Given the hefty momentum of the machine, this bounced off and didn't come to a halt until it rolled over six times.

Fortunately, as the YouTuber who caught the shenanigan on camera explains, the driver was OK. And while a Porsche nearly became involved in the accident, this eventually managed to avoid any issue.
