The BMW 3-Series range is shaping up nicely, with an award-winning sedan and a new wagon already available. The coupe and convertible will most likely be called 4-Series models from now one, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be well received.
But perhaps the first really all-new car in the range is the 3er Gran Turismo, which will have a notchback design, but one that’s different from the similarly named 5-Series.
This odd looking piece of sheetmetal is not a form of modern art, it the naked chassis of the 3-Series GT. This photo was scooped off assembly line, most likely for pre-production or robot testing, by the GermanCarForum comunity.
The car is currently undergoing testing and is scheduled to hit the market in March 2013. Its reveal will most likely take place at the next major motor show, in Paris.
