Essen is the biggest tuning show of the European calendar, a European version of SEMA if you will. Unlike Geneva or Paris, everything shown here tends to be a little bit crazy. That applies to the BMW 3 Series shown by AC Schnitzer.
As some of you may remember, the 3 Series range received a mild facelift earlier this year. As usual, the bumpers are slightly altered, meaning Schnitzer had to start from scratch and redesign some inserts.

The carbon fiber accents are not bad, not bad at all. The front bumper gets a big chin, and the mirrors have nicely polished carbon caps with a silver tint. Completing the transformation, the rear roof spoiler and the trunk insert are added into the mix. They are discreet enough to fool people into thinking that’s how the car should look in the first place.

From the side, AC Schnitzer’s new side skirts become immediately evident. At an additional cost, the tuning company sells adjustable suspension with adjustable compression and rebound settings. It can lower the car by up to 40mm, but you can also opt for standard powering springs that slam the front by 25-30mm and the back by 20-25mm.

New alloys have been installed. They have a trademark design we’ve seen earlier today on the AC Schnitzer BMW X6 Falcon. The simple 5-spoke design makes the blue brake calipers stand out even more.

If you visit their one-stop shop, you are unlikely to leave without an engine power box. If you’ve made the mistake of buying the underpowered 316i base model, know that AC Schnitzer can upgrade it to 201 PS, while the 3-liter turbo engine of the 335i gains a 355 PS output. Diesels have not been left out, as the grunt of the 335d can be accompanied by 356 PS. Even a common model like the 320d can receive a respectable output of 218 PS.

Finally, the aural experience is catered to by dual and quad exhaust systems that you may have seen previously.
