BMW 2 Series Gets Two New Clips

Now that everyone’s had some time to get used to the new 2 Series from BMW, the Germans decided it was time to let you see a bit more of the new Coupe through some new, informative videos.

They brought in 27-year old race driver Stefan Landmann to talk you through some of the highlights of the new 2 Series. First off he talks Launch Control and how it helps you get the perfect launch in a drag race or a simple timed sprint (to check if that claimed 4.8 seconds sprint is real or not).

One of his tips is so obvious most of us probably overlooked it: never turn the steering wheel when using launch control. Otherwise you might end up in a tree or on the oncoming lane and that wouldn’t be pretty, now would it?

So, to activate the launch control in the M235i (and other 2 Series models with the sport automatic gearbox) all you have to do is: press the brake, disengage the DSC (press the DSC button located next to the gearshift lever), get the gearbox in the S mode (tilt it to the left in D) and accelerate. Remember, all this time, the brake pedal must be pressed.

If you have been successful, when pressing the acceleration pedal, a flag will appear in the instrument cluster. Release the brake and you’re off.
