BMW 2 Series Convertible’s Top Can Now Be Remotely Operated

The guys from Mods4Cars are known in the industry for offering all sorts of neat devices that allow you to make your ride into a semi-transformer. Be that an Autobot or a Decepticon, they’d still be extremely cool.

The latest model to receive the Mods4Cars treatment is the 2 Series Convertible, a car that we found as enjoyable as beautiful. Now you can control its roof from the key fob thanks to what the guys put together.

We’re talking about a simple module, just like the one for the 4 Series Convertible or any other model as a matter of fact. It is easy to install and costs $379 which could be considered a bargain or expensive, depending on the way you decided to look at it.

Looking at how much any optional feature for the 2 Series costs, we’d say it’s cheaper than most. If you’re looking at it from the perspective of how many McD cheeseburgers you can buy, oh well...

The best part is that no additional programming is necessary as the device will work flawlessly with the standard setup. Furthermore, the device can be operated in convenience mode which means that no matter if the ignition is on or off, the operation of the roof can’t be paused.

That might make a big difference, trust us, as convertible roofs sometimes need to be pulled up in a hurry. Luckily, we also have a video of the thing in action and you can check it out, below. Need we say more? You can find the product over on the company's website, next to the one for the 6 Series.

We're guessing they are together because of the textile roof, the 4 Series using a hardtop choice and being priced differently. Quite peculiar to pay the same price considering the difference between the 2 Series and the 6 Series but hey, it's not up to us to set price tags.
