The guys from AutoBild published a video on their Youtube channel showcasing the new car, a bit ahead of its time. Die-hard BMW fans were quick on the trigger and quickly took some screenshots of the new coupe to share it amongst themselves.

Unfortunately, AutoBild quickly realized the mistake they did and pulled the video from the internet. The pics remained, though and we're now able to show you the face, rear and sides of the 2 Series.

The model in the photos looks like a Modern Line 220d, based on the exterior trims it's wearing. If that's the case, it has a 2-liter diesel engine under the bonnet that makes 184 HP and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque, the same unit used on other models such as the 520d and 320d.

From the new model range, the most expected version is the M235i one, the car that is supposed to be the successor of the 1M Coupe. Launch is expected later this year with deliveries to begin in 2014.
