BMW 1M Roundabout Drifting and Street Burnouts In Sweden Is How Old Tires Retire

Saying goodbye to your old tires is never easy. Even if the cost of a new set doesn't put a dent in your annual car budget, you'll still have to invest your time in doing some research and handle the logistics of the operation.

However, when you own a rear-wheel-drive car, you can compensate for the hustle by seeing the old rubber through with a bang. Or whatever words you use to describe the soundtrack delivered by burnouts and drifts.

We've brought along an example of such a ceremony, one that involves a BMW 1M Coupe. The living Bavarian legend does its thing in Sweden and it all starts with an episode involving the good old roundabout drifting - stereotype fans should also be pleased by this one, as the ubitoquus IKEA can be seen in the background.

The tire-melting action goes on with some overly serious dynamic burnouts, the kind that ensures nobody will even try to use your old tires once you send them away. This is one odd way of making sure other drivers stay safe, right?

Humor aside, while we don't condone such driving behavior on public roads, at least it looks like the areas used for the shenanigans were traffic-free at the time when the throttle was mashed. Just remember not to try this at home, or when visitng IKEA in your Ferrari, for that matter.

Since the 1M can sometimes be too tail-happy for its own good, we have to admit it was an excellent choice for such a smoke-generating adventure. With a relatively short wheelbase and an uber-quick steering (2.2 turns from lock to lock), the Bimmer did ask for a lot of focus on its driver's side, but the 335 horses (make that 340 PS, you metric system fans) were put to serious sideways work, resulting in a spectacular clip.
