The BMW 1M, the real successor to the E46 M3, a light and nimble rear-driven sports car, with a straight-six engine at the front and a manual six-cog transmission in the middle. However, an 1M owner decided to spruce up his wheels by (drastically) changing its color, from black to lime-green (the roof shows the original color).
We say that the transformation is a very successful one, giving what is a slightly-understated car the presence it always needed. Along with the color change, the wheels get a gloss-black finish, as well as a lime-green lip. Other mods include a titanium exhaust system, lowered Bilstien sports shocks and a blacked out grille.
We really like this green 1M and we say that more owners should not be afraid to give their car that little bit of personality, because, let’s face it, even with the wide-body kit fitted as standard to the 1M, it still lacks that certain aesthetic ‘je ne sais quoi’ that sets a special sports car apart from its rivals - the old Z4 was, let's face it,not very good looking kind of ugly, yet it still caught on - its ‘quirky’ looks, let’s call them, were its ‘thing’, exactly what a stock 1M lacks.
