Tuning fast cars to be even faster is common business these days. Just bolt on a new exhaust and intake, tune the ECU and you have a happy customer. However, famed BMW tuner G-Power’s expertise extends way beyond that the simple jobs.
Recently, the found they could pull as much as 435 PS out of the 3-liter turbo in the 1-Series M Coupe. However, for the G1 V8 HURRICANE RS project, they did something else – they took the V8 engine out of an M3, including the DCT double-clutch gearbox, and dropped it into “little brother”. But 420 PS wasn’t enough, and they also stuck on an ASA supercharger, as well as other performance goodies to get it to 600 PS.
The car goes from zero to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and has a new top speed of 330km/h (205mph). That might not seem like much, but when you have the bragging right over a Ferrari 458, it doesn’t matter.
Speaking of exotics, the humble 1-Series pretty much is one now, priced at €141,176.80 ($182,900) as a complete package.
That’s partially because it comes with a slew of other goodies, like a carbon fiber hood, boot, 396 mm Ceramic-Carbon discs and a KW suspension kit.
