BMW 1M Coupe Spotted Looking Great in the Czech Republic

Out of respect for their only ‘supercar’, the M1, when BMW decided to make a bonkers version of the 1 Series Coupe model, they decided to switch the places of the letter and number in the moniker for the new car. They ended up calling it 1M and it was crazy fun.

I’m saying ‘was’ because the car is no longer in production. After initially wanting to make only around 2000 units the Germans were persuaded to make a couple more by the ever increasing demand and ended up making 6,331 of them, all infused with that magic M brilliance.

The car had a perfect 50:50 weight distribution and 340 HP coming out of a twin-turbo 3-liter petrol engine with an inline 6-cylinder configuration. It was capable of amazing stuff, fitted only with a manual 6-speed gearbox. It brought back the BMW we all knew.

That’s why it deserves a special mention every time it’s spotted anywhere in the world. Thanks to the internet we can now keep up with every owner out there and the latest spotting I heard about was in the Czech Republic and is showcased in the gallery below. Enjoy!
