BMW 1M Coupe Silhouette Racer Uses Chevy V8 Engine

Don’t worry, this is not a BMW 1M Coupe with a Chevy V8 engine. Nobody has desecrated the smallest member of the M family. Instead, we are talking about a silhouette race car that was created by French racing team Global Concept Automobile.
The racer, called GC10-V8 (we must thank for jonsibal.com for the scoop), might use a body that makes it look like a 1M, but under the skin, we have a tubular space chassis built using the FIA standards, so there is nothing Bavarian about it. For example, the suspension uses a three-way adjustable setup, being supplied by Ohlins.

Like we said, power comes from a 6.2-liter Chevy V8 unit that churns out 550 hp, offering the driver a real chance for the victory fight. The vehicle’s next racing appearance is scheduled for the 2012 Dunlop 24-Hour of Dubai, which takes place in January.
