Track days are a great way to test your limits and see how you would fare against people that race more often than you and have better cars than yours. They are also dangerous, don’t be fooled.
One man and his passenger found out the hard way, unfortunately. If they’d been reading our blog they probably would’ve gone into that corner a lot slower and more careful.
Don’t get us wrong, we’re all up for testing your car’s limits and handling characteristics in a safe, professional environment but we also recommend not crossing that thin line between control and chaos.
That’s exactly what happened to this unlucky driver and his BMW 130i. He lost control of his car in the Scheivlak corner, during track day held on the Dutch Zandvoort circuit. Fortunately, he had a pretty good roll cage installed that saved his and his friend’s life, making sure they get back home to see their families.
