BMW 1 Series Remote Controlled with Nokia C7

One saying goes that the single difference between boys and men is the size of the toys they play with. That saying cannot be more true for a pair of Chinese tech-heads, who have decided scale car models no longer satisfy their needs.

The two, whose names will not be spoken (question mark number 1), took a big chunk of their spare time and dedicated it to the creation of a smartphone app that would allow them to remotely control a car.

The two guys created the app, navigating through thousands and thousands of lines of code, in about 20 days. Using the Symbian operating system as a platform and the Asian division of Nokia as a fervent supporter (question mark number 3), the pair managed to transform a Nokia C7 into a remote steering wheel for a BMW 1 Series.

So, how it all came to be? Bored out of their minds, the two Chinese techies got together after school and rented a lab equipped with anything their heart desired (question mark number 4).

After working for 20 days and conducting seven compatibility tests using smaller, less exciting objects, the two tweak the BMW, make it work by Nokia remote and trick a parking enforcement agent into chasing the empty car down the street.

Impressive? Well, it's all in the very good quality video below (question mark number 5).

PS. Add the questions and tell us what you think: the real deal, a hoax or a Nokia viral?
