BMW 1 Series No Longer Available on US Website

For hatchback BMW fans that live in the USA, the F20 1 Series is still a chimera, the car being restricted to other continents, leaving them outside the playing field. Up until recently, they still had a small Bimmer to play with and configure on the official website, in the shape of the aging E8x 1 Series.
Of course, only a couple of models were left, including the brilliant E82 135is and the Convertible in various guises and both of them were still showing up online on BMW USA’s configurator, days after the launch of the 2 Series.

However, I recently noticed that the old models were pulled off the website recently, marking yet another era in the Bavarian company’s history: no more 1 Series Coupe or Convertible starting this week (as the last place where they were still sold was the USA).

Not only that but right now, with BMW’s refusal to bring small hatchbacks into the US, the 1 Series is the only model that’s completely off the chart for North American buyers, unless the Germans change their mind. Quite a shame, if you ask me, as the M135i xDrive proved to be a blast to drive in our test drive.

So folks, say goodbye to the E82 Coupe and E83 Convertible models as they’re fading in the distance! It sure was  fun having them around!
